Faye B. Cooper

Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Cooper, the love of her life, with whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage; and by her sister, Debra.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Kevin Cooper and Keith Cooper; her five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Darrell and Terry; sisters, Fern and Freda; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A hardworking and determined woman, Faye dedicated more than 30 years of her career to Bell Labs and Western Electric, where she built a successful career while continuing her education. She earned undergraduate degrees in electronics engineering and business, reflecting her intelligence, perseverance, and commitment to lifelong learning. She later earned a degree from Otterbein University in marketing and real estate. Following her retirement from Western Electric, she pursued a career in real estate with Shockey Realty before ultimately fulfilling her passion for education as a schoolteacher at New Albany High School.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Faye was instrumental in the organization and formation of the New Albany Arts Council. She proudly served as a co-primary organizer of the annual Summer Children’s Art Camp, a program she took great pride in helping create and participate in. Through her dedication to the arts and her community, she enriched the lives of countless children and families.

Faye was remembered as a kind, loving, and devoted mother who always put her family first. Above all else, she cherished her family and took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of those she loved. Her wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Wednesday, June 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
