Jess Fisher, age 77, passed away on August 5, 2025, at his home in New Albany, Ohio. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, to his parents, Jesse Fisher and Grace O'Connor, and was formerly of Long Island, New York.
Jess was a proud and dedicated member of the New York City Police Department, where he served with honor and heart. He never missed an opportunity to share stories from his time on the force—each one told with vivid detail and a spark in his eye. After retiring from the NYPD, he continued his commitment to justice by working as an investigator.
He embraced life with energy and joy, making friends wherever he went. Jess filled his days with the things he loved most: fishing, staying active, and participating in organizations like the Fraternal Order of Police and the Moose Lodge. Above all, Jess cherished time with his family. Whether he was lounging by the pool, cheering on his favorite football and basketball teams, listening to music, or enjoying meals at his favorite restaurants, he found happiness in the simple pleasures and the people he loved.
Jess is predeceased by Steven Fisher.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Eileen Fisher; his daughter, Kristen (Tony) Garver, who brought him immense pride; and his adored grandsons, Jameson and Logan Rossler, who were the light of his life.
Jess will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
