Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother JoAnn Rae Wilson passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on November 6, 2024. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Above all else she was a devoted Christian and follower of Jesus Christ who lived her life trying to follow His example.
Those left to treasure her memory include her husband, Richard and their four children Carol Becker (Henry), Doug Wilson (Lisa), Danny Wilson, and Susie Ratcliff (Kelly). She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Emrich.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 7, 1943 to Clyde and Elizabeth (Crabbe) Emrich. She attended St. Thomas Elementary, Eastmoor High and Bishop Hartley. She married her high school sweetheart, Dick Wilson in 1960 and they were together for over 60 years.
JoAnn spent her life as a homemaker, mother, and later as the world’s best grandmother to her nine grandchildren who affectionately called her Granny. Nothing made her happier than spending time with Kelsi, Andrew, Ashley, Zachary, Jacob, Matthew, Chad, Noelle, and Chandler.
She enjoyed spending summer days by her pool surrounded by her family, trips to the beach, crafting and cooking.
One of the last great joys of her life was becoming a great grandmother to Blake, Leo, Baylor, Luka, Becker and Bennett.
JoAnn was the heart and soul of her family and her laughter, sense of humor, kindness and faith will be missed more than words can convey. She was a joyful soul who will be forever missed.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 11:00am-12:00pm followed by a service beginning at 12:00pm at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Rd. Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
