JT was born on September 30, 1974, in Barberton, Ohio, to Ray and Claudia Todd. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. Yet even these words fall short of capturing the depth of JT’s love and devotion to his family, his larger-than-life personality that naturally drew people together, and his remarkable musical talent—he owned and played 36 guitars, sang and wrote music.
JT was a man of faith. He was a member of Stonybrook Church, where he played in the Praise Band. He was a loyal Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan, a respected leader, colleague, and mentor in his role as Director of IT at Victoria’s Secret, and a devoted dog dad, Dad-a-Roo, to his beloved Sammy. He was an avid fisherman who loved the water.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Joy Todd (née Anderson); his cherished daughter, Grace (24); and his son, Troy (21). He is also survived by his devoted parents, Raymond and Claudia Todd of Barberton; his sister, Marcy McKendry (née Todd); his in-laws, Dee and Ronald Anderson; brothers- and sisters-in-law Jeff and Erica Anderson, and Jay and Melissa Anderson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
JT was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Ray and Lolita Todd, and Maurice and Grace Pike.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00AM at Stonybrook Church, 485 Cherry Bottom Rd., Gahanna. Calling hours Friday, January 30 at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast Funeral Home, Gahanna and Saturday, 10:00AM at Stonybrook Church. A Celebration of Life will be held in Barberton, Ohio, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in JT’s honor to the Dreams on Horseback (dreamsonhorseback.org).
