Karl John Valentine M.D., 74, passed away on June 27th, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He is survived by his immediate family members Nancy, John and Jill, as well as his brothers Greg and Tony Valentine.
Karl was born on January 7th, 1950 to Carl and Johanna Valentine at Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany. He would himself join the United States Air Force as a young man, ultimately rising to the rank of Captain. He held a deep love for his country throughout his life. After moving frequently in his early childhood to all corners of the country he loved, including California and Alaska, he ultimately settled in Bellbrook, Ohio, graduating from high school in 1968.
He completed his education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1983, embarking on a lifelong career as a physician. Going on to specialize in Emergency Medicine and addiction recovery, he touched the lives of many patients during his long career. Cooking, fishing, Key West and Jimmy Buffett were just a few of the many interests he held, as evidenced by his unrivaled collection of Hawaiian shirts.
Karl’s family is grateful to know he is finally at peace.
A memorial service in Columbus is in planning. In lieu of flowers, Karl’s family would be honored for your donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
