Mary Westinghouse

Mary Erna Westinghouse, age 88 passed peacefully on March 16, 2023. Mary was a 1952 graduate of South High School and a 1956 graduate of Capital University. She grew up attending Trinity Lutheran Church, located at Third and Fulton Streets in Columbus Ohio. Mary was very active there from a young adult. She sang in the choir, was a member of Luther League, taught Sunday School and Bible School, organized many banquets and events and was a member of various other ladies’ groups.

Mary met her husband of 66 years, Richard Westinghouse while attending Luther League at Trinity. They later joined Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna where she was involved with the Women of Peace, bible study and various other activities. Mary truly loved her Peace Lutheran Church family and felt most at peace when she was at church.

Mary tutored at Berwick Elementary School for many years. She treasured her friendships with the staff at Berwick. Mary wanted everyone to know that she thanked all her good friends for the memories and she was truly blessed.

Each day Mary began with reading her daily devotions, which she sometimes shared on Facebook. She had a very strong faith all of her life and was a prayer warrior for many.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Wittmann and her granddaughter, Brittany Weixel. She is survived by her husband Richard Westinghouse,

daughters, Lynn Weixel (Kenny) Lisa Westinghouse, Lori Amicon (Andy Amicon), grandchildren Bradley Weixel (Quinn) Amber Scott, Keehle Amicon and Brinley Amicon.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, officiated by Pastor Doug Warburton. Family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the memorial service.
