Penny was so special to me…she had watched Cory and Tiffany when they lived on Faircrest.  When JC was born, it was such a comfort to have Penny care for him, since I was 32 when he was born and I had always had a career.  A fun fact, being a first time newborn mom, I needed to have a super trustworthy care taker, which Penny obviously was.  When JC left her care at 13, Penny presented me with the “instruction” list I had given her when he was 8 weeks old.   I was embarrassed that I had given this to her when she was so competent and experienced.  She just said, no problem, just thought you would appreciate getting it back after all this time!  Priceless.  My heartfelt condolences to the family.

I lived across the street from Penny for . We both babysat children. If course her more than me. 
Penny has a very big heart...especially for children.  I pray she is dancing with children in heaven 🙏  I knew Penny for 52 years...and she has blessed everyone she knew.  Love her forever...and someday we will meet again in our Lord's Heaven.🫂

Ms. Penny  will be dearly missed.  Not only a neighbor, but motherly, a caregiver for my children, and her compassion for our family was warm, inviting and done with the most love.  The day she moved the street felt empty.  But I step outside and still hear her voice.  Farewell Ms. Penny as you rest peacefully.  P.S you have forever changed how we make and eat our Sloppy Joe's.

Penny the most wonderful person in the world. She definitely will be a beautiful angel in heaven. Penny watched my kids from birth till about 13 which is like many of the other stories we hear she was something very special to me. I never had a mother and she always stepped in there and played the mother role with me And not only her but the family was so good to me. Also that I love you guys so much too it’s so wonderful to hear all these stories and it seems like all the stories are the same, which is such a wonderful thing. The stories never change. My kids absolutely loved it there. They would go spend the night. They didn’t even wanna come home And of course she said come on come spend the night lol Penny I love you so much and I will see you one day I want you to know that being the person you are there could never be anybody to take your place to my mother Angel above. I love you, Penny to the family my condolences. I love you guys too. You were you are always so good to me.always so good to me also thank you for all of that. Rest in peace Penny.

Penny was someone we wanted to live forever. Her compassion towards children, her love for her family, her willingness and determination to continue on was immeasurable. There isn't a single sole that met Penny and wasn't either impressed with her or felt some sort of aura to want to be around her. Her home was always full...grown adult children still stopping by for daily coffee...because they LOVED seeing her and being with her! Her phone in her kitchen rang off the hook for her birthday and holidays. She was so loved. She will always be so loved and never forgotten. My condolences to the whole family.

I’ve known Penny for 56 yrs. She’s was more than just a friend she was more like family. Many laughs and heartache during those years. She was definitely one of a kind. All the love and good she did for so many including myself will never be forgotten. She will be loved and missed and  I will carry those memories in my heart forever.

May the wonderful memories fill your heart with comfort and peace during this time of sadness. 

I am so sorry for your loss.  I loved your mom.  She was sassy and very caring.  She made my time at Smith's Mill enjoyable.  I loved getting to know her a year ago when I was in there for my leg.  I will truly miss her.  Hugs Dear Pam to you and your family.

I love this women so much. She was my babysitter for many many years and then my kids babysitter. She was so kind and caring to everyone.

She was “one in a million “ the best   She started watching my son Jimmy Joe and it was the start of her baby sitting “career”.  After 17 years had past I brought her my second son Andy to watch. What a gift it was knowing I could still count on her for the expert care she gave to my first son. Rest in peace .  Our family  was so fortunate to have known her. God bless her!

Penny was not just my babysitter.  She was also my counselor,  therapist, teacher,  friend, reference on my job applications, regular stop when trick or treating, emergency contact for Alpine and even let me use her address in order to keep my kids at Alpine when we moved out of the district. She was a Godsend to me as a young mother with no family in town. She never shamed me when I made bad choices but did let me know when I was wrong and sometimes all it took was that look and head shake. And she would check my hair for blond roots when I would do or say "dumb" things. She transformed so many lives. Even babysat people's dogs! And she did it all out of love. I admired her organization on the stairway at pick up time  and always enjoyed the talks on the stairs that she made time for as busy as she was. Penny went through her own trials and heart break but I think she got through it by caring for others. I used to call her a Penny from Heaven and now Heaven has taken her back. We are all blessed to have known her and many of us know each other because of her. There will never be another Penny. My thoughts and prayers to her very supportive family.
