Shirley “Sunny” Rempe, age 86, of Westerville, Ohio passed away Monday, January 15, 2024. She was born December 12, 1937 in Cincinnati. Ohio, the youngest of 3 children born to Donald and Henrietta (Headley) Root.
She was a 1952 graduate of Pickerington High School. During her high school years she was active 4-H member and was an Ohio 4-H state fair grand champion with her javey cow.
After high school, Sunny studied and graduated from cosmetology school and has cut hair throughout her life.
Although born in Cincinnati, Sunny spent her childhood on the Root family farm in Canal Winchester, Ohio with her Arabian horse Rebel.
Sunny Married David Rempe on February 16, 1963 in Lancaster, Ohio. Sunny had 4 children, Adam (Rose) Rempe; Heidi (Alex) Miller; Jamie Rempe Stevens; Ladd Rempe.
Sunny had 6 grandchildren, Amy (Brad) Yantiss; Lisa Lee; Stephanie Westbrook; Lindsay (Aaron) Krieger; Addison Rempe; Taylor (Aaron) Schroder. She also had 9 beloved great grandchildren.
Friends may gather at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 E Johnstown Rd., on Thursday, January 25th from 4PM to 7PM. Funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, January 26th at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd,. Beginning at 12PM.
