Tresa F. Jashinski, of New Port Richey, Florida and Gahanna, Ohio, returned to the Lord on April 25, 2022. Born Tresa Marie Falchetti on January 11, 1935, in Kittaning, Pennsylvania, to parents Louis Falchetti and Rose Bresso Falchetti, she joined her older brothers, Albert and Richard on the family farm.
She grew up in Kittaning, PA, the only daughter in the family. She was close with her mother, learning gardening and traditional Italian cooking from her. Tresa was extremely social all her life, and made many friends wherever she went.
She met William (Bill) Jashinski, Rural Valley, PA, and they married in 1956. They moved around a lot for his work as an engineer, living in Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, and Ohio. She and Bill had four children: William, Cynthia, Steven, and James. They finally settled in Ohio, where the children grew up. The family belonged to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Gahanna, Ohio.
In addition to raising her four children, Tresa worked part-time as a realtor at the local HER office. She was successful at this job, due to her friendly, social personality. She made many friends, several of whom she kept in touch with over the years.
Tresa had several hobbies. She enjoyed cooking, especially Italian food, and feeding her children and grandchildren. She passed her cooking skills on to her family. She enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful roses of many different colors in her yard, which her family remembers fondly. Tresa was an avid golfer, competing in many local tournaments, and winning some as well, both in Ohio, and in Florida, where she and Bill retired. Tresa’s other hobbies included putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards - euchre, gin, and bridge.
Tresa was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Rose, two of her children, William and Cynthia, her husband Bill, and her brothers. She is survived by two children, Steven and James, eight grandchildren, Emily, Whitney, Kevin, Megan, Victoria, Nicholas, Kathryn, and Michael, two great-grandchildren, and various other family members.
Mass will be held at 10:30 Friday, April 29th at St. Matthew Church in Gahanna, OH, where visitation will precede the mass beginning at 10:00. A small graveside service to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family asks for live plants in lieu of cut flowers, in honor of Tresa, so they can remember her and her love of gardening when they look at and tend to the plants.
