

Virginia (Ginny) Fuchs Freet of New Albany, Ohio passed away into the arms of Jesus on July 20, 2024, following a long journey with Alzheimer's. She was born January 19, 1935, in Shawnee, Ohio to the late Jacob and Virginia Fuchs.
Ginny was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1953. She moved to Columbus and became a telephone operator with Ohio Bell before getting married to the love of her life and becoming a full-time mom. She loved her family so much and was always there for them and for many others. Cooking and baking were some of her special gifts. Family and friends will fondly remember her amazing pies, dough buns and chicken & noodles. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and loved sharing her talent with many. She also made wedding cakes for friends and family. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed sewing many things and her Barbie Doll clothes are now being enjoyed by her great grandchildren.
She was a founding member of The Church of the Resurrection. She loved her church and Catholic faith so much. Ginny was an EOM and a member of the Women's Group. She was named Catholic Women of the Year. She loved her monthly euchre games with her friends.
She is survived by her sister Barbara Marita; daughters Kimberley (Robert) Hannah and Barbara (Michael) Chappelear; grandchildren Danielle, Stephanie, Brittany, Lindsey, Shawn, MaryBeth, Jeremy, Susie, Kirstin and Jax; great grandchildren Michaela, Christopher, Tristin, Sophia, Joseph, Olivia, Jared, Lilly, Loyal, Tessa, Sadie, Dawson, Leelyn, Adley, Stella, Aubrey, Josiah, Makailo, Cassidy, Leonhard, Benedikt and Cecilia.
Preceded in death by Jack, her husband of 49 years; sons Jack and Chris; twin grandsons Christopher and James. Also proceeded by her 5 brothers: George, Carl, Charles, Robert and David.
A visitation will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany, OH 43054 on Thursday, July 25, from 10:00am – 11:00am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. Services will conclude with interment at Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, New Albany, OH 43054.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to Church of the Resurrection in Ginny's memory or consider spending time with someone challenged with the puzzling disease of Alzheimer's. This visit will mean more to them and their families than you will ever know.
