Alice Gray

GRAY, Alice Ruth went to be with the Lord August 22, 2013 at Ridgeview Health Center in Jasper, Alabama. She was born in Selma, Alabama to William Jasper and Rosa Adams McKinney who predeceased her. She was predeceased by her husband, William Floyd Gray and two sons, Richard Douglas and John Darryl Gray. Surviving are her daughter Evelyn Ruth Bobo (Jack) and two sons, William F. Gray (Cindy) and Robert E. Gray (Dee). Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was a member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church for 62 years where she taught Sunday School, participated in United Methodist Women and attended numerous Bible studies. She sponsored Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and worked to have organized baseball in Gardendale. She loved her town, her church and the people. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Children’s Home in Selma, Alabama or to the American Cancer Society. A funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Staurday, August 24th, at 12 Noon with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Moncrief Cemetery in Gardendale, AL.
