Alice Veach

Born Sarah Alice Sigmon on February 10. 1924 to John Jerome and Ruth Sigmon in Hickory NC. she married her high school sweetheart, Robert H. Veach, Jr. For the next 31 years, Alice spent traveling the country to 17 different locations a Senior Navy officer's wife.

Alice dedicated her married life to raise three boys, Robert Jerome, Stephen Michael and William Edward, concentrating on love, education, good health and common sense reasoning. Thereafter, she became an "empty nester" and volunteered with the Red Cross (most notably at Walter Reed Hospital for injured Viet Nam Vets), turned avid golfer ( a hole-in-one to her credit), and official welcomer to new residents at the St. Martin's Arbor Apartments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, "Rosy" and first son, "Bob". Alice is survived by second born son, Mike (with wife, Dianne, sister-in-law, Michelle Thompson and stepson, Chad Meeks), third son, Bill (and partner, Lit McClendon), grandson Bradley Thomas ) and wife, Misty), niece Lynne Veach and nephew Douglas Veach.

Burial will be with her husband at 12:30 PM, Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Alabama National Veteran's Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Ridout's Gardendale Chapel will be directing.
