Bertha Lee Ford

Bertha was a loving mother and grandmother and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She cared for family and was very defensive of them. She was a hard worker and worked many years driving for Kelly Construction. She loved her "fur babies;" Snootz, Baby Girl, Lil Buddy, and Rose.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Ray Kennedy and Mamie Lee Kennedy; a sister, Theresa Harris, and her husband, Tim Ford.

Bertha is survived by her son, Nathan Abney (Beth); daughter, LeAnn Hayes (Josh), and so many more who called her "momma"; four brothers, Earnest Kennedy (Regina), Jeff Kennedy, Ted Harris, and Patrick Kennedy; one sister, Carol Warren (Steve); five grandchildren, Amber Hayes, Zoe Hayes, Katie Hayes, James Johnson, and Ricky Johnson, as well as a small army of nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation for Bertha will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, AL. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:30 AM at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL 35071.
