

Charlie was known as a loving family man with a deep passion for proper work ethic from growing up on a farm and working with livestock. He was a fighter in life, fighting Leukemia at a young age and prospering against all odds. He loved working with heavy equipment and was also a big fan of NHRA Drag Racing. Charlie truly cherished his family and friends, and ensured they always knew just how much they were valued.
Charles "Charlie" Earnest Steel leaves behind his loving wife, Betty Steel; son, Brad Hill; step-son, Anthony (Cara) Steele; and grandchildren, Katlyn Steele and LynnLeigh Grace; and a host of extended family and friends.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Olene Steel; brothers, Roger Steel, Ralph Steel, and Jerry Steel.
A visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama, 35071, on December 13, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the same venue on December 13, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am.
The committal service will take place at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama, 35071, on December 13, 2025.
