Doris was a very friendly and wonderful person and loved to meet and talk to people. She graduated from Berry High School and after graduation, she went to work for stockbrokers where she was a teletype operator and retired at the age of 62. After a short time off, she worked part time in the Home Goods department at JC Penney in Fultondale, AL. She loved to travel and her family was her pride and joy.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Damon and Magnolia Esary; her husband, James B, Garner; a sister, Nola Herring; two brothers, Zorn Esary and Oron Esary.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Debra Knox (Steve) and Karen Renaud (David); one grandson, Damon Paul Knox (Megan) and two great grandsons, Barrett Reid Knox and Bennett Colt Knox, several other family members and many friends.
The family wishes to express a deep appreciation for the loving care provided by Dr. Larry Douglas Alford, his staff, and the seventh floor staff at St. Vincent's Hospital, Birmingham, AL.
