Doris was a homemaker and an active member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church. She shared her love of singing as a member of the church choir. She is survived by her daughter, Renee “Darlene” Christain, Dallas, GA, her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Dottie Reed, her niece, Barbara Tow, nephews, Howard Jones, Murphy Jones, Shelby Jean Nelson, Step-daughter, Greg (grandson) and his wife Judy Nelson, and many nieces and nephews. Her celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with the burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens Gardendale, AL. Rev. Ted Cruce officiating. The family is receiving family and friends one hour before the service begins. Doris was an independent, strong-willed and loving woman that will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
