Edith Turner Kertzschmar, age 86 of Fultondale, AL was born May 27, 1927 in Warrior, AL and passed away Monday, October 21, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dutch Kretzschmar; parents, Curtis and Alice Farley Turner; brothers, James Frank Turner and Pat Turner; sisters, Doris Whisonant and Elizabeth Streetman. She is survived by her loving family, a brother, Billy Ray Turner (Gwen). She was like a mother to her niece, Glenndean Moon and a “Nannie” to Alanna and Jaime, and “great Nannie” to Cannon and Savanna. Edith cherished all her nieces and nephews and loved them like her own children. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23rd, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with a visitation held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
