Edmund Culpepper Griffin III

Edmund’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather who built his life around those he cherished most. He also possessed a sharp enthusiasm for speed and competition, evidenced by his lifelong passions, which included following the high-octane excitement of Formula One and NASCAR racing. An eclectic man, Edmund also enjoyed the quiet focus required for skeet shooting, the creative contemplation of art shows, and the thrill of go-kart racing at Birmingham Green.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edmund C. Griffin Jr. and Margaret Griffin.

Edmund’s memory will be forever cherished by his devoted wife, Darlene Griffin, and their two children: Jason Griffin (Amanda), Ashley Griffin (Joe). siblings: Lydia Griffin, and Andrew Griffin (Wendy). He leaves behind one cherished grandchild, Atlas, who was a bright source of joy.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Funeral Home Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071) on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM with services immediately following.
