

Our beloved mother, Edna Earl Lee Mays, known as Nana, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1943 to Gertra Gladys Lee, also known as G.G Lee and to Alma Feltman Lee. Edna was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.
Edna was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to her family and her faith.
Edna Earl Lee Mays is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Audry O'Neal Lee and Hugh Don Lee, a great granddaughter, Alivia Brianne Childress. Edna is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dwight Douglas Mays. He was the love of her life, known as Poppie. She is survived by her three loving children, Sherry Tucker (Brian), Scott Mays (Carol), David Mays (Theresa); six grandchildren, Benjaman "Ace" Tucker, Bethany "Queenie" Tucker, Garrett "Gab" Mays, Anna "Annie" Lee Walker (Trey), Joshua "Bubba" Mays (Britanny) and Mallori "Mal" Mays; 11 great grandchildren, Brindlee Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Benjamin Evans, Thomas Evans, Alyssa Childress, Nellie Mays, Caroline Mays, Sutton Walker, Banks Walker, Jovie Gremmels and Liam Gremmels. She also leaves behind her brother, James Vernon Lee (Sue) and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel at 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM. Brother Ralph Shipley will preside over the service.
Pallbearers will be Brian Tucker, Benjaman Tucker, Garrett Mays, Joshua Mays, Randy Lee, and Trey Walker.
