Buck graduated from the University of Alabama with an electrical engineering degree. He married Mary Hammonds in the fall of 1965. Buck spent his professional career specializing in paper machines and paper mills, retiring from BE&K Building Group in 2006. He had many hobbies and interests, including fishing, golfing, and skeet shooting.
Buck is survived by his two children, Angela Strickland (and Daniel) of Gardendale, Alabama, and Pamela Bales (and Rick) of Brownsburg, Indiana. He has six grandchildren, Christopher Willingham (and Lillie), Alex Willingham (and Emily), Connor Bales, Jordan Bales, Samuel Strickland, and Abigail Strickland. Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Williams Hammonds and parents, Buck Sr. and Ethel Mae Boone.
The family will hold a visitation/celebration of life at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 4;00 pm on August 22, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Sacred Selections in Buck’s name.
