

Edythe N. Crumpton, age 95 of Dacula, GA and formerly of Mt. Olive, AL passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She loved working and volunteering at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Mrs. Crumpton was a member of and was very instrumental in organizing the Wildflower Society and the Fern Society for many years at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Olive where she enjoyed Sunday school and her many church activities. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren leaving them a legacy of life lessons. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Clayton Ingram and Justin J. Crumpton; and a son, Joe Clayton Ingram, Jr (Ann Terry). She is survived by her children; sons, Jerry Ingram (Jenny) and Robert Ingram (DeLee); her daughters, Sandra Jones (Otis) and June Lacanski; step-children, David Crumpton and Robert Crumpton and their families; grandchildren, Tamara Strickland (Rob), Jackie Jolley (Stuart), Andrea Jenkins (Bowdie), Shannon Rush (John), Michaela Culpepper (Brock), Jason Ingram (JoAnn), Natali Evans (Corey), Ailea Ingram, Chris Ingram, and Nickolas Lacanski; 21 great grandchildren.
Chapel services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 11 AM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering via International Mission Board at www.imb.org.
