Howard, a resident of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away peacefully at the age of 75. Howard graduated in the class of 1961 from Phillips High School and he obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Samford University. He retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron after 35 years of service and then worked at Gardendale Elementary School (GES) for several years. He has been a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church since 1974. He was a loving and kind man and he loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary Scott.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Glenda Bragan Scott; his daughter, Bambi Burns (Jeramie); granddaughter, Bragan Burns; brother-in-law, Hank Bragan; sisters-in-law, Rosenell Bragan Davis and Eunice Bragan Galloway (Bob); his work family at GES; and many other friends and family. Special thanks to Dr. Chuck Yeager and the office staff at GES.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, May 5, 2018 with a celebration of life visitation and reception to begin at 12:30pm followed by a service at 1:30pm with George Weeks officiating. Please dress casually.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Howard Scott Memorial Fund at GES, to be used for teacher and staff supplies. Donations can be delivered / mailed to GES at 860 Baures Lane, Gardendale, AL 35071.
