Jack "Jay" Bates, Jr., age 48, of Remlap, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, following a long illness of hemochromatosis. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack C. Bates, Sr. and sister, Dana Bates. Survivors include his wife of 3 years, Alecia Bates; Mother, Rhonda H. Bates; Son, Nathan Bates; sister Karin Roberson (Mike); Stepdaughter, Keri Melvin (Michael);Niece Leslie Baudot and grandchildren, Ayden and Jessie Champion.
Jay truly loved all in his church family.
A visitation for Jay will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. There will be a celebration of life Wednesday, October 6, 2021,12:00 PM at The Church at Remlap, 17259 Remlap Drive, Remlap, AL 35133. Chuck cater will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Donate Life Alabama.
