Mr. James Rogers Day

James Rogers Day of Kimberly was born on July 16, 1925 and passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013. He was a wonderful husband and father who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Lucille Wolford Day; a son, Dana Day; his parents, James Erby and Grace Lucinda Doss Day; siblings, William Milton Day and Louise Day Reno. He is survived by his loving family, his three daughters, June Mosley (Don), Linda Whitworth, and Jolene Tavel (Donnie); grandchildren, Dana Sieben (Dave), Christy Tirone (Mike), David Day, Phillip Whitworth (Yva), Cindy Patton, and Ted Tavel; 18 great grandchildren. Mr. Day served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II. He retired from the US Postal Service. He was a Master Mason of Sam Thompson Lodge # 456 F&AM, in Morris, Al. He was a lifetime member of the Freemasons, and was a former member of the Eastern Star. He traveled to all the states in the union but one, Hawaii.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Morris Cemetery in Morris, AL. Rev. Don Mosley and Rev. John Bookmiller officiating.
