A resident of Gardendale, AL was born on July 15, 1923 and passed away May 17, 2013 at the age of 89.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Louise. He is survived by his daughter Jimmie Nell Purkey (Ed); son, James Harvey Estes III (Marie); brother, Alvie Estes; grandchildren, Clare Anna Estes, Brad Purkey (Jennefer) and Sheralyn Valentine (Jim); great grandchildren, Carson and Austin Purkey, Anna, Justin and Andrew Valentine, and a cousin Charles Ballew.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm with a graveside service with Military Honors following at 2:00 pm at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, Alabama.
