Janice Kay Crane, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 20, 1953 and she passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018 at the age of 65. Janice drove a school bus for over 30 years until she retired. She was an avid glass collector and collected many works by “Fenton”. She loved her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry McCarty and Sylvia McCarty Payne.
Janice is survived by her sons, Jason Crane and wife Stacy Crane of DuPont, Washington and William “Bubba” Gower of Sumiton, Alabama; two brothers, Doug McCarty and wife Debbie McCarty and Greg Payne and wife Kris Payne; two sisters, Phyllis Esco and husband Tommy, and Melanie McKissack; five grandchildren, Brooklynne Gower, Zachary Gower, Daphanie Gower, Adam Gower, and Annabel Crane; one great grandson, Colton Gilliland; many other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, March 18, 2018 with a celebration of her life to begin at 12:00pm followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm.
