Jean "Nan" Burgett

Jean Burgett Clark age 83 of Morris, AL passed away on Sunday December 19, 2021. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. Jean was born and raised in Cullman County where she met the love of her life Raymond Burgett. They later moved to Gardendale, where they raised their children Gary and Cindy. After the passing of her husband Raymond, Jean married Horace Clark and remained married to him until his death in 2019.

Jean was a sister in Christ and loved Jesus with all her heart. She loved her family beyond words and showed it by the way she lived. She loved bird watching and nature. She loved cooking (but only the sweet stuff). She enjoyed family Saturdays, full of fellowship and Alabama Football. She was a constant example of love, and loved unconditionally and without cause. Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew her because to know her was to love her!

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Henry Lee and Bertie Simmons, her husbands Raymond Burgett, and Horace Clark, her five sisters: Clara, Cleo, Mary, Sue, and Cora Lee and four brothers: Clarence, Willard, Hershel and Windell. She is survived by her son Gary (Pam) Burgett, her daughter Cindy (Steve) Edwards, granddaughter Lindsey (Jeremy) Morris, grandsons Brandon (Shannon) Burgett, Brad (Jessica) Edwards, Jonathan (Bo) Gray, great grandchildren Nathaniel Burgett, Dylan Burgett, Josiah Phillips and a host of nieces and nephews as well as friends.

A visitation for Jean will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
