Jean Freeman Denny

Jean Freeman Denny, a current resident of Fultondale, AL, was born in Cullman County, AL, on May 2nd, 1940 and passed away peacefully on April 25, 2016 at the age of 75. Jean was a member of the Bible Missionary Church, Birmingham, for over 50 years. She was the owner and operator of the Ivan’s Restaurant in Norwood, AL, for 23 years before it closed in 1993.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert L. Denny, Sr.; her father, Jessie Freeman and mother, Roxie Freeman McMurry, and 8 siblings.

Jean is survived by her sons, Robert L. Denny, Jr., and Joseph Merrill Denny; daughter, Beverly Ann Harris (Darrell); sister, Elsie Garmon; grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Brenten Clark, Terran Clark, Zachary Denny; great grandchildren, Terra Clark, Triston Clark, and Lacie Clark; many other family members and a host of friends.

Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28th, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a funeral service Friday, April 29th, 2016 at 1:00pm followed by her burial in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Blountsville, AL.
