

Jerry attended Stonewall Jackson School and was a 1961 graduate of West End High School. After graduation he enlisted into the Navy in 1962 where he served four years and enlisted into the Navy Reserve and retired in 1984. While in the Reserve, he began working at Acipco in 1966 until his retirement in April of 2002. Jerry enjoyed listening to music and reading; but he had a love for working in his yard making sure it looked pristine and wouldn’t allow anyone to park on his grass.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Martha Faye; his daughter, Adrian Lea DeArmond; his parents, Harry Adrian Ulmer and Nello Walters Ulmer; his sister, Neal Blitch; his brother, Hal Ulmer; his granddaughter, Jessica Aaron; and his great grandson, Hunter Blaze. Jerry is survived by his daughter and son in law, Karen and Curtis Rowe; his four grandchildren, Brandi Morgan, Christopher and Danielle DeArmond, Jamie and Megan Rowe, and Jennifer and Aaron Fowler; his ten great grandchildren, Alexis, Eli, Autumn, Dakota, Kenzie, Krimson, Brett, Cole, Brynleigh, and Millie; his great great grandson Liam; his sister, BJ Seymour; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A Graveside Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
