John L. Cato of Gardendale lost his hard fought battle on Thursday, June 9, 2011. He was born December 3, 1943. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy; son, Jeff and daughter Ginger; sisters: Lorene McCreless, Edna Patterson, Patricia Wheeler and Mae Belle Smith; brothers: Curtis and Joe Cato and a host of nieces and nephews. Johnny was a person who loved life to the fullest and when he was well he loved to go fishing and Auburn football. We would like to thank Comfort Care Hospice for their loving care. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with burial in Bethel Cemetery.
