

John Dennis Walker, a current resident of Leeds, Alabama, was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 14, 1945 and he passed away peacefully on January 4, 2018 at the age of 72. John lived in Gardendale, Alabama for many years until after he retired from ACIPCO after 40 years of employment. John was an avid outdoorsman and his passion was fishing. He was a loving family man and he enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Tyree Walker; two daughters, Angie (Tim) Smith and Lynn (Jody) Tortorigi; two sisters, Sue Freeman and Jeannie Terpo; five grandchildren, Leah (Josh) Drummond, Haley (Justin) South, Kelsey (Rob) Steber, Walker Tortorigi, and Alex Smeraglia; great grandchildren, June Francis Steber, Max Drummond, and Bobby Steber, and a host of friends and family.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 with a visitation to begin at 10:00am followed by his funeral service at 11:00am. He will be buried in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
