Joseph L. Barnes

Joseph Lynn Barnes went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2018. Joseph was a 1959 graduate of Corner High School. He spent the majority of his career working for Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith. He enjoyed building, flying and repairing remote controlled airplanes. He shared his love of airplanes with 5 generations of family that flew with him. Joseph also enjoyed southern gospel music and spending time with his family. His love and laughter will be the greatest loss to those he left behind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Haydie Barnes and his sister, Mary Kornegay. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Barbara Tuggle Barnes, children Phillip Barnes, Janet Barnes McCombs (Ricky) and Jonathan Barnes, grandchildren Brian (Ashley) Barnes, Krissi Barnes Williams (Justin), Dylan McCombs and Devyn McCombs, five great grandchildren Cheyenne, Carmen, Mackenzie, Brodie & Savannah, his sister Emma Joiner and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday February 25, 2018 with a visitation to begin at 1:00pm; funeral service at 2:00pm, followed by his entombment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum.
