Judy never met a stranger and she loved everyone she met. She worked for many years with Dr. Sydney Mitchell of Fultondale until he passed. Judy then began to work at FoodLand where she was able to share her joy of life with everyone that came through the doors. The most important people in her life was her family, she enjoyed spending her time with her extended family, her children, and most of all her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil when they were little. When Judy had a bit of quiet time she choose to work crossword puzzles and always had one going.
She is preceded in death by her husband of over 20 years, James Gurganus; her daughter in law, Lovena Gurganus; and her sisters, Betty Lou Clagett and Patricia Williams.
Judy is survived by her son, Jeffrey Gurganus; her daughter, Martha Ajamian and her husband James; her grandsons, Matthew and Anthony Ajamian; her nieces, Melanie Williams and Valerie Gilmore and her husband Tommy; her nephew, John Eric Williams; and numerus cousins and extended relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at Graham Cemetery in Mount Olive at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 1, 2023.
