Kenneth H. Powers Sr., 91, of Mt. Olive passed away August 24, 2014. Preceded in death by his parents P.E. Powers Sr. and Ruth H. Powers, his brother P.E. Powers Jr. and daughter Kay P. King and grandson Alan F. King. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Fannie B. Powers, his children Martha T Boyd (Mike), Kenneth Powers Jr., Karen P. Trotter, and Kelly P. Reed (Randall) his sister Ruth Bridges and his brother Donald B. Powers (Pat), step daughters Lois Carroll, Joy Burks (Bruce), Gale Nelson (Mike) and Susan Carroll (Stephanie), grandchildren Jeff King, Keith King, Scott Boyd, Katie Powers, Subee Powers, Matthew Hall, Winter Trotter and Coti Denard. Many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a star football and track athlete while attending Ramsay High School. He was captain of the football team and president of the student body. He won a full football scholarship to Howard College. He retired from E.I. DuPont after 30 years and designed and built houses. Memorial Service was at the hospital at his bedside with his family.
