Linda Kathleen Douglas, aged 56, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 2nd 2017 at her home, after a brief battle with cancer. Linda was born October 3rd, 1960, in England, to Terry and Betty Scarlett.
Family, photography, music, and cats were Linda’s passion and delight. She spent her time behind the lens of a camera catching photographs of her grandchildren playing sports or the beautiful birds visiting her yard each day. Jumping in the car with boyfriend, Peter, they would venture to various locations to capture the beauty of nature. Linda is also known and loved for time in owning and operating Home Field Sports Grill in Fultondale, Alabama. She wasn’t shy of the microphone to belt out a karaoke song, which most recently found her at open mic nights around the Birmingham area.
Linda is survived by her brother Ian Scarlett (Sally); sons, Jason Douglas (Kim) of Hoover, AL and Jeremy Douglas (Jessica) of Gardendale, AL; daughter, Jessica Douglas (Kyle) of Loganville, GA; stepchildren, John Russell Douglas (Tina), Gracie Johnsey (John), and Melanie Douglas; a niece and nephew; and four granddaughters and five grandsons. She also leaves behind many loving friends.
There will be a celebration of life service for Linda at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071 this Saturday, April 8th beginning at 2 PM.
