

Louis was one of ten children born to his immigrant Italian/Sicilian parents. He was a graduate of Ensley High School and he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He met and married Anita Stuart Colafrancesco (also serving in the Air Force) and they were married for 54 years until her passing twelve years ago.
Louis had a very strong work ethic, dedicated to providing for his wife and their seven children. He retired from Burlington Northern/Frisco Railroad after many years of service. He was a skilled tradesman who did not pay others for repairs that he could do around his home; his skills included plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and mechanic. He left behind a collection of worn out picks, shovels, posthole diggers, and an array of tools. He was a devout Christian who faithfully attended mass and generously supported the Catholic Church.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maddalena Alesci Colafrancesco; and his loving wife, Anita Marie Stuart Colafrancesco; two brothers, Tony Colafrancesco and Salvadore Colafrancesco; two sisters, Ann Marie Henson and Geneva Carden.
Louis is survived by one son, Anthony Colafrancesco (Trina); six daughters, Marie Richardson, Vicki Swann (Randy), Cindy Ferraro (Peter), Donna Yielding (Michael), Christina Cornelius (Dan), and Rosemary Colafrancesco; sisters, Bernice Callans Josephine Faucett (Harlan), Catherine Willis (Bob), Virginia Jones (Robert), and Providence Hooper (Sam); fourteen grandchildren; Angelo Demma, Will Richardson, Michael Swann, Andrea Swann, Mark Swann, Valerie Dees Martin, Angelina Dees, Michaela Yeilding, Kristen Colafrancesco Long, Alana Colafrancesco, John Colafrancesco, Christopher Cornelius, Madison Cornelius, Jon Neal Cornelius; twelve great grandchildren; many other family members and friends.
Celebration of life services will be as follows; a time of visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Henry Catholic Church, 511 5th Street West, Warrior, Alabama on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 10:30 am and Louis will lie-in-state one hour prior. His burial will follow the funeral mass in Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer, Alabama.
