PORTER, MARY SUZANNE of Smoke Rise, born on February 12, 1945 in Birmingham, AL, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was formerly a member of Central Park Baptist Church, Smoke Rise Baptist Church and is currently a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Suzanne had a passion for music and was the organist for Smoke Rise Baptist Church for 20 years. She had also attended Samford University where she studied Medical Technology.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jack Porter and parents Clarence and Mary Lou Huie. She is survived by her daughter, Brooke Porter Lanier (Kyle) of Solvang, CA; brother, Jerry Huie (Sharon) of Vicksburg, MS; grandchild, Lexington Laine Lanier; brother-in-law, Jim Porter (Anne) of Clearwater, FL; 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Oneonta. Dr. Sid Cottingham & Pastor Michael Jones will be officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Porter will be from 10:30 - 11:30 Saturday morning.
