Throughout her life, Oma was known by many cherished titles—daughter, sister, wife, Louise, Mom, Granny, and Mrs. Burrow. No matter the role she held, she filled it with unwavering love and devotion. She was a remarkable wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud and loving grandmother whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, William A. Burrow; her sister, Janet Kay Carle; and her sons, Michael Burrow (Nan), and Robert Burrow.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: John Michael Burrow (Tori), Julie Burrow Tunstall (Seth), Nathan Burrow (Maggie), Trevor Burrow (Chandler), Ethan Burrow (Lexi), and Andrew Burrow. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Silas Burrow, Jane Tunstall, and Isla Burrow.
Mrs. Burrow dedicated 25 years of her life as an English teacher at Minor High School, where she poured her heart into her students. Their success meant everything to her, and she took great pride in watching them grow and achieve. She was especially proud of her involvement with the school newspaper and the impact it had on her students.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Mrs. Burrow was a devoted member of Gardendale First Baptist Church for 65 years. She taught Sunday School and served in many capacities throughout the years.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation and thanks to the care teams at Hanceville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests your prayers and invite you to share your memories of Mrs. Burrow as a teacher at Minor High School by emailing Mr. Willian Burrow at [email protected], or you can make a donation in her memory to First Baptist Church of Gardendale or Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.
Purple was her favorite color, and the family encourages everyone to wear something purple in her honor.
