Pia Mindermann Poole

Pia Mindermann Poole, a resident of Gardendale, Alabama was born in Gemunden, Rhein-Hunsruck, Germany on June 28, 1942 and she passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2018 at the age of 75. Pia loved life and she enjoyed traveling. She moved to the United States in 1965. She loved her family dearly and she cherished the times she was able to spend with them. She enjoyed working in her career as a cosmetologist for many years.

Pia was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katherine Mindermann and two siblings, Rita Mindermann and Inge Mindermann Wickert of Germany.

Pia is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Colby Poole of Gardendale, AL, three siblings Edeltrud Mindermann Meisch, Rudi Mindermann and his wife Monica, Sigrid Mindermann Mildner and her husband Herbert, and Kathe Mindermann Muller and her husband Willi all of Germany, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 with a Celebration of Life, visitation at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 10:30am until 12:30 pm, followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama at 1:00pm.
