Rachel H. Dodson, age 68 of Mt. Olive, AL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2015. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and pulling for her AUBURN TIGERS! She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond H. Hurst, Sr. and Louise Hall Hurst. She is survived by her family, her loving husband of 51 years, Gary J. Dodson; her sons, Chris Dodson (Jan) and Craig Dodson (Shea). She was the most wonderful “NANA” in the world to her grandchildren, Emily Dodson and Evan Dodson. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond H. Hurst, Jr. (Kay) of Pensacola, FL; niece, Heidi Weekley and a nephew, Eric Hurst.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM with chapel services on Tuesday beginning at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale. Rev. Mark Harrison will officiate services.
