Rayford "Chet" Downey

Rayford "Chet" Downey, age 22 of Mt. Olive was taken from our lives but not our hearts on Sunday, July 25, 2010. Anyone blessed to know him, loved him. Chet loved life, music, his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bobby-Ray Argent. Survivors include his mother, Allison Lynn Argent Siddle; father, Kenneth Eugene Downey and wife Kellie Thompson; brothers: Bobby-Jack Downey (Jessica) and Kenneth Sheridan Downey; step sister, Stephanie Siddle; step brother, Hunter Grill; grandparents: Jack and Gail Downey, Elaine Loggins Argent and Gregory Hood; aunts and uncles: Lane Argent, Andi and Jamie Fanning, Melissa and Daniel Ashby, JoAnna and Bobby Carroll, Doug and Tracy Downey, Mike Downey; nieces: Emma-Lynn Ruth Downey and Ray-Marie Gail Downey; and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

His service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 205.631.6252 in Gardendale, AL.
