Richard Eugene Marlin

Richard served in the United States Navy for 30 years before retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Alvis Marlin; mother, Katherine Marlin, daughter, Rebecca Marlin; brothers, Alvis "Balb" Marlin, John "Jackie" Marlin, and Gerald "Jerry" Marlin; and sisters, Janice Ray and Betty Huey.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Marlin; son, Alex Marlin; daughters, Toni Marlin, and Tracy Dyer (Jerry); grandsons, Dylan Hamblin (Brandi), Chase Holbrook (Michele), and Tre Holbrook (Jasmin); great-grandsons, Hudson, Lokey, and Alexander; sister, Judy York; brother, Thomas Marlin; nieces, Ginger Cahill (Tom), Katherine Goode, Kim Marlin, Cindy Tew, Lisa Aldridge, Amy Reed, Daphne Billingsley, Amanda Marlin and Tammy Williams (Jeff); nephews, Greg Marlin, Chris Hawsey, Jeff Hawsey, Greg Marlin, Tommy Marlin, Kevin Marlin, and a host of great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Richard will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama in the Fireside Room, Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the Marlin family asks that donations be made to The Olive Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Mount Olive, AL.

Richard will be laid to rest in Bivens Chapel Cemetery, Brookside, Alabama.
