Rodger deeply loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time in nature and hunting, he also was known to have a green thumb. Spending time in his garden was one of his favorite activities. In his earlier years, he served in the Air Force then went on to having a long career as a maintenance technician for the United States Postal Service. Rodger was a devoted Christian who carried the Lord in his heart at all times.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Carolyn Martin; sons, James and Brandon Martin; brother, Donald; sister, Joan; as well as three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlie & LaConya; his late wife, Charlotte; older brothers, Freddy & Larry; and sister, Linda.
A visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama, 35071, on December 2, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm.
The funeral service will follow at the same location on December 2, 2025, beginning at 2:00 pm.
