Roger D. Garrett, age 62 of Birmingham passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 surrounded by his girls. Roger was always known for his distinctive voice and his wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid University of Alabama football fan. Roger served his country proudly during the Viet Nam War in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Esther Garrett; and a brother, Gilmer Garrett. Roger is survived by his wife, Pamela Garrett who he was together with for 21 years and married to for over 12 years; three daughters, Ashley Garrett Standridge (Phillip), Crystal Clabaugh Cruz (Omar H.), and Candice Clabaugh Pannell (Delynn); a sister, Susie Garrett Newcomb; Grandchildren, Garrett Mahaffey, Andrea Cruz, Jackson Pannell, and Logan Standridge; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Services will be held Saturday, April 11th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel where the family will celebrate his life from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
