

Roy loved this country and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of New Temple Baptist Church where he served as an Associate Pastor and was the Founder of Homebound Ministry at New Temple. Roy was married to his sweetheart Doris Faye for 67 years. He loved the Lord and his family and served them both with all his heart.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Audrey Mae Carreker; one son, Andy Carreker; two brothers, Russell Carreker and Jessie Carreker, and one sister, Annie Marcus.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Doris Faye Carreker; one son, Timothy Carreker (Anna); one daughter, Rebecca Jones; one brother, Troy Carreker; seven grandchildren, Daniel Jones (Stephanie), Brooke Gospodareck (David), Josie Jones, Brandi Carreker, Everett Hoagland, Stone Smith, and DA King; great-grandchildren, Christain Gospodareck, Audra Gospodareck, Abram Gospodareck, Georgia Kate Gospodareck, Zoe Pledger and Serenity Boyd; one great-great-grandchild, Payton Pledger; speacial mention; Renae "MaMa", William, Brianna, Melissa, and The Mayor; several other family members and a host of friends.
Services for Roy will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from at New Temple Baptist Church, 4501 Greathouse Road, Dora, AL 35062, with a time of visitation to begin at 12:00 Noon; funeral service at 2:00, followed by his entombment in the Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL 35071.
In lieu of flowers Roy ask that donations be made to the Senior program at New Temple Baptist Church, 4501 Greathouse Road, Dora, AL 35062.
