Ruby M. Makemson

Ruby M. Watts Makemson, age 88 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Ruby was a longtime member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church and was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Harlin W. Makemson; parents, Will and Annie Powell Watts; brothers, Jim Watts, Loid Watts, and Harold Watts, her sisters, Lois Morgan, Helen Thomas, and Opal Suther. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Anne Makemson Lindley (Bill); and her son, Thomas W. Makemson (Linda); grandchildren, Miranda Boys, Angela Holley (Jamey), Kris “Krissy” Lindley, Erik Lindley, and Jarrod Lindley (Cherie); great grandchildren, Alex Boys, Haley Boys, Isabella Holley, Avery Holley, Christian Lindley, Kaylee Faulkner, and Kenzie Lindley; her sister, Marie Kaylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 pm with chapel services on Wednesday, March 9th beginning at 2pm. Interment will follow in Center Grove Cemetery in Cullman, AL. Rev. Leon Zalenski and Rev. George Weeks will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Erik Lindley, Jarrod Lindley, Christian Lindley, Alex Boys, Brad Boys, and Jamey Holley.

2nd Timothy4: 7-8 …“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day- and not only to me, but also to ALL who have longed for his appearing.”
