Sheryl Ann Shipp took that final journey to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. It has been a journey, but the final flight was made. She was so blessed to be part of the Shipp Family. She is preceded in death by her most wonderful ‘adoptive parents’, Curtis and Clara Shipp. She leaves two loving adoptive sisters, Meldre Poe (Tommy) and Kylie Dudley (Steve), and one brother, Curtis Shipp, Jr. (Melany). She also leaves some very special nieces and nephews that she loved as her own, Kristy, Ashley, Amanda, Meagan, Holly, Brittany, Lance, Blaine, Jase, Madison, Kynlie, and Brooks. May God continue to bless them all and look after them.
She also leaves some ‘biological’ sisters and brothers, Brenda Beeks, Vicki Jackalone, Nancy Campbell, Lois Marie, Steve Parker, and Vic Parker. She hopes their lives are as blessed as hers in this journey of life.
She was blessed to have worked for J.B. and Lynette Mazer at Mazer’s Lumber for a number of years and later for Joe and David Maluff at Full Moon BBQ, as long as she could until the end. She stressed over and over, what a blessing that has been and how grateful she was to the Lord for allowing her to work for them all.
Sheryl loved the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior very much and saw daily His ‘coming to her rescue’ in answering so many prayers and just helping her in the day-to-day tasks at work. She was a member of Maple Street Missionary Baptist Church and was so blessed to get to know many wonderful people in the Church.
She hopes to meet everyone again ‘on the other side’…
A visitation is planned for Friday evening at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 7 PM with chapel funeral services Saturday, December 7th at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
