Thirston "Wayne" McCombs

Wayne was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend who loved his family deeply. He enjoyed spending his time at the Gardendale Civic Center walking with friends. Whether he was enjoying road trips or eating at unique restaurants, he brought love and unforgettable memories to those around him. Wayne was an avid fan of Southern Gospel and a strong believer in faith and prayer.

Wayne is survived by his siblings, Gary McCombs (Julia), Pat McCombs Love (Dennis), Anita Lynn McCombs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Judy W. McCombs; brother, Preston McCombs; and sister, Shirley Jean Gillmore.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on May 31, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on May 31, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm.

Wayne’s final resting place will be Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, US.
