If you knew Tom, then he probably fixed something for you. Always handy, and always ready to lend a hand. An engineer and tinkerer, there was no problem he couldn’t find a simple, safe and elegant solution for. He showed his wife a love that one could only pray for in a life partner.
If one of the grandkids wanted a swing, he would build it. If one had a concert, a graduation, a gathering, a game, you name it - he was there. He was our resourceful, funny, consistent, faithful, humble, loving patriarch.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and grandson. He leaves behind Janet, his loving wife of 51 years; sister Karen Barnes; two sons, Brian (Elizabeth) and Mike (Amanda); and grandchildren Abby Conner (Christopher), Amy, AJ, Taylor, Michael Jr., and Pierce.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 10th at 2 pm, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Thomas Episcopal Church’s Barbecue ministry.
