Thomas a resident of Warrior Al passed away at the age of 78. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of the Lions Club. At an earlier age he and his father owned and raced stock cars at local tracks and he was an avid Alabama Football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Metcalf, Sr. and Tressie Pauline Sanders and a brother, Jimmy Metcalf. He is survived by his wife, Pamela White Metcalf; sons, Greg Metcalf of Pelham, AL, and Mark Hallum of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Dianna Dawson of Atoka, TN and Debbie Comer of Indian Springs, Al; brothers, Terry and Chuck Metcalf; sister, Polly Metcalf Ozley; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 12:45pm until 1:45pm with a graveside service in the Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at 2:00pm.
